Love books, enjoyable conversation and meeting new people?
Join our book club once a month at the Writers Café Atop A Hill, a cosy, welcoming space overlooking Dublin's twinkling lights.
Each month, we’ll choose a book by a local author and explore different genres, stories, and voices. We’ll gather over tea, coffee and a few treats to share thoughts, hear different perspectives and enjoy an evening with fellow book lovers.
Whenever possible, we’ll invite the author to join us, giving you the chance to hear about their work, ask questions, and meet them in a relaxed, friendly setting.
Our meet-ups are only 90 minutes, and the cost is €10.

Mission
Join us as we celebrate the vibrant community of readers and authors in Rathfarnham and its surrounding areas! We are excited to highlight local talent and promote a love for literature that brings us all together. Whether you are an avid reader or an aspiring writer, there’s a place for you in our literary family. Let’s inspire one another and create a thriving hub of creativity!
Schedule:
6.00 pm
Arrive, have a cup of tea or coffee and meet everyone.
6.15 pm
A little introduction to the Writers Café Atop A Hill Book Club and a chat about how we’d like the book club to work.
6.30 pm
Time to get to know each other. What do we enjoy reading? What makes a good book club? What kinds of books and authors would we like to discover?
6.50 pm
Tea, coffee, treats and time to chat.
7.05 pm
Introduction to our first book, why it was chosen and a little about the author. Everyone can pick up their copy and we’ll have a chat about what to expect, without giving anything away.
7.20 pm
A few final questions and details for our next meeting, when we’ll come back together to discuss the book.
7.30 pm
Finish.
